A blog by Rebecca Winzenried

I’ve worked in the performing arts industry for more than a decade, yet I’ve never truly been of the arts world. Unlike many of my peers, I did not study at a conservatory or perform professionally; my background is in magazines and newspapers. I’ve always related to the experience of casual ticketbuyers because I was one of them. That affinity has often allowed me a clearer, or at least different, perspective on the challenges, foibles and frailties of arts groups as they struggle to reach today’s audiences and find relevance in a new century.

Some of the opinions expressed here might seem naive. . . but then maybe that’s the point.
